WELCOME
The Clemson Area African American Museum (CAAAM) is one of the leading cultural institutions in the city of Clemson and the only museum in Pickens county devoted to local African American history.

Located in what was once the Calhoun Colored School, CAAAM focuses on how Africans and their descendants shaped upstate South Carolina and the rural south.

Thank you for your interest in visiting the Clemson Area African American Museum. Please note the exhibition on Early African American Education is currently closed as we prepare for our new sports exhibition, Sincerely, Daniel. The exhibition will be open to the public in December of 2024. Please visit our website in November for more details.
